PressPlay-ing

Last Saturday, the Adamson’s Chroniclers attended a journalism seminar at De La Salle University.

Press Play is the first ever tie-up between The GUIDON and The LaSallian, the official student newspapers of the Ateneo de Manila University and De La Salle University-Manila, respectively. Press Play, done in coordination with the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP), is divided into a workshop and competition for collegiate student publications.

The workshop will be on January 19 from 8 am to 5 pm at DLSU-Manila. It will feature the following topics and speakers:

* Morning (8 am to 12 noon) – Simultaneous sessions: In-Depth Writing and Reporting by Carlos Conde, a freelance correspondent for international publications; Photojournalism by Raffy Lerma of the Philippine Daily Inquirer
* Afternoon (1 pm to 5 pm) – Simultaneous sessions: Editing by Rowena Paraan of Bulatlat.com; Layout and Cartooning by Jimbo Albano of Business Mirror

I was at McDonald’s Taft at exactly 7 AM. Bryan was already there and after a few minutes, Noli and Mikay arrived. Jen arrived and then we waited the super late, KitKat.

I attended the In-Depth Writing and Reporting with Kitty, while I was joined by Mikay and Bryan on the Editing session.

Noli is responsible for the blurry, non-auto focus and no flash photo results.
